Wind Turbine

Wind Turbine

Through an inquiry-based investigation, students will experience the phenomena of wind; and the relationship between solar energy, atmosphere, and the earth’s rotation. Multiple forms of technology will be utilized to perform an investigation with the FLEXHIBIT STEM Wind Turbine Exhibit, which is a model Wind Turbine. Vernier Technologies is an option for use, for real-time data and SketchUp for 3D models of Wind Turbine prototypes as part of the iterative design process.

Discussions involving models are integrated including how models are replicas of STEM Concepts Taught:

  • • Exhibit Technology Vernier Technology for real time data
  • • Wind Turbine Engineering Design
  • • Engineering and Societal Value
  • • Science of Wind Energy
  • • Phenomena of Wind
  • • Math Calculations
