An airplane needs to create enough lift to tame the force of gravity. To do this the airplane wing needs to move air over it rapidly and the faster it does the more lift it creates. This is why runways are so long, they give the aircraft enough distance to create the speed needed to lift the plane off the runway. But what if you don’t have a lot of runway (like on an Aircraft carrier) or an engine for example? Then you need some kind of boost, hence the paper airplane launching exhibit was born to catapult paper airplanes into the air and test the aerodynamic design skills of all the visitors.
